The book market is concentrated in the big cities – Bucharest, Iași, Cluj, Brașov, Sibiu, Constanța, Timișoara.

A total of 1,350 active publishers – out of which around 100 are present at the book fairs—and only 15 or 20 could be counted as significant.

The weakest spot of the Romanian book market is the bookseller: there is a total of no more than 300 booksellers nationwide, most of them in the big cities.

There is an increase in translations from Romanian literature.
